Adding things from ultra tech to gurps traveller without screwing things up

Lexx

There were a couple weapons from gurps ultratech I think might be Ok to add to GT without screwing things up.

Basically, I think traveller tech could be able to produce electrolasers and the gyroc launch pistol/rifle, and that such weapons would be pretty cool in traveller.

If anyone has ultratech and knows the weapons I'm talking about feel free to opine.

Hi Lexx.

I haven't played Traveller using the GURPS rules but I have played GURPS Cyberpunk and the Gyroc's in that edition were pretty good. I played a sprawl police officer that had been invalided out of service... but I digress, He carried a Gyroc pistol
much goodness, and they'd be fine shipboard/zero G depending on your load out.IMHO.

Gyroc weapons are already in Traveller, the accelerator rifle and the assault rocket launcher ;) , I would allow the higher TL Viper rounds at Traveller TL13+.
Disruptors could be allowed since Traveller laser weapons are capable of firing in the micro-wave part of the spectrum by the mid TLs.
A lot of the non-lethal weapons could be legally ported over since things like sonic stunners and tangle nets were introduced in T4. I can't see a problem with needlers either.
Looking at the non-weapon tech I would allow quite a lot of the GTL9-12 gear, but it would have to be carefully matched to Traveller's TL paradigm(some bits may come earlier or later than in G:U-T) and some of the technologies do not exist at all in the Traveller Universe - unless of course you mant them too ;)
