Xboat: a Traveller RPG 'zine

Has the issue number 2 PDF gone out yet?

To the international community.

Plus I have a couple of US destinations going out on trial. Testing out postage. Assuming they arrive safely, then the US mailings will begin in haste.

Then I'll get the PDF up.

I got my copy of Issue #2 today. It arrived in perfect shape, and looks great. And the articles are all interesting as well.

Finally got around to downloading my pdf copy of Xboat No2 and once again I'm a happy customer.

I loved Ian's Corsair cover, and loved it more once I got to the back cover and realized it was a wrap around scene.

The Emergency Airlock is nicely illustrated and a well set out description.

The feature Training through Guilds is great and I'm definitely stealing and adapting that for my needs.

The Bestiary and Contact! sections are proving to be the stand out wow cool bits of Xboat so far and speaks to the usefulness of T5 for detailing aliens and alien creatures.

The Ship's Locker Survey Scanner MP is a nice piece of kit, especially the drone version. The illustration of the drone with sensors expanded that also appears on the contents page is particularly nice.

C'mon No3 ;)

Another satisfied reader of Xboat 2 here. I am really digging the system shortcut articles like the quick ship design and training through guilds.

I'm also getting a lot of use out of the bestiary and artificial person entries. Not just for the products themselves, but as examples of T5 design processes that I still find hard to follow.

A question and a request, though: what are the TLs for the Huscarloid and Protocol robots? And could TL be a standard parameter for future robot entries?

Looking forward to the next issue!

Special Supplement 1's cover, while in color and wrapping around the back, is good (although the white text is a little hard to read in a scanned image). But the copious number of interior illustrations by Tim Osborne are excellent.

I got my copy in the mail today. I had only a quick look, but it looks great.

The Contact supplement is great! The only thing I miss would be some stats for the Virushi (well, there WAS an excellent image of one there). But I have them somewhere in one of the JTAS.

As always - excellent production values and excellent content.

I received mine a couple of days ago. It is lovely. I hope we can manage to help Robject to continue to publish this ‘zine from time-to-time.

Downloaded mine last night. It is an excellent piece of work! Great artwork, good concise articles on the races, with nice use of T5's rules. And did I mention the artwork is great?
I sure hope Rob keeps up with this fanzine after the first year. I will happily pay what I paid for another year.

Special Supplement 1: Contact!

Exactly what T5 needs: playable species.

Rob if you expanded this even just a little bit it'd make a must-have for anyone with T5.

+1 to what everyone above said about it.

Thank you all for your kind words. All four of my artists I've used are top notch. (You've only seen three of them so far...)

The only thing I miss would be some stats for the Virushi (well, there WAS an excellent image of one there).

I agree; and I also wish there was just a bit more space for each alien. I feel like I need double the space to do each justice.

1. At some point, the PDFs will be made available for purchase on DriveThruRPG.

2. I've considered the POD option, but it sounds like work. We'll see.

3. I over print in case of minor shipping disasters; after each print run, I have taken on a few additional "retro backers", but no promises.
