Who PLAYED IT but doesn't like it. (MegaTraveller)

In all fairness, just CT alone is 50+ books
4 different rulebook sets (CT77, CT81, TTB, ST)
6 additional books (B0, B4,B5'79, B5'81, B6, B7, B8)
13 supplements
13 adventures (A0 to A12)
6 double adventures
2 campaign adventures
8 Alien Modules

It's really only a page or two per book.

We never really realized there were so many problems with the game other than typos and such. I mean, the eratta at FFE.net is almost 60 pages. I realize that incorporates stuff from magazines and other supplements...but wow, 60 pages.

To be fair, part of the work on that 60 pages is to make MT a better game. If I could get my hands on that Gothic Globe font I'd take a shot at rebuilding the PDFs for Marc.

And look how big the CT and TNE errata are, and we've only just started with them. We've been collecting MT errata for almost 20 years!

Errata

Maybe "problems" was not the right word to use Don. I looked over the errata a little and thought, "gee, how could we have missed that" for some of the stuff in there. Errata, by its nature, is to make the game better and there was certainly a lot of material published when the game was in it's prime to make it so. The errata does cover much more than just the core rules too. Three pages of errata a year over 20 years is probably pretty good considering how much material there was. Judging by the the other material you are trying to include in the errata there is still quite a road ahead.

It is great to see that there are some that still want to make the game better after all this time; definitely a labor of love. If it really had been a bad game from the start we probably wouldn't have places like this to talk about them.

The Gothic Globe font seems to be available on the net...it does not seem to be free though.

There are a few variations with that name though.

The only thing I didn't like about Megatraveller (apart from the whole Rebellion thing) was the vehicle ceration rules. I don't know if it was just me but I could not get a design to work. Then I thought, who the hell cares if there are 20 configurable workstations with HUDs on board. As a ref I just tell them that there is or not. Liked the character creation rules though.

definitely D. what i run these days is primarily MT, but with some houserules. i went back to the CT setting, and still use that material rather frequently. the task system (as others have said) is wonderful, probably my favorite resolution system from any game.

i do find myself continually tweaking things from other parts of MT, though. i can see myself returning to CT in the future and bringing the task system along.

Globe Gothic...

A bit off topic...

Here is what I found as it relates to Globe Gothic...could not make the small caps, like the title on the books, on any of the websites:

mls

While it looks similar, there are some variations. The 'G' has the curly thing at the bottom right. Them 'M' is quite different. The 'T' has the slants at the top ends. The depth of the 'V' is a bit different. Also, the thickness of the thin parts of the letters is too thin (does that make sense?)

Typesetting being what it is today as compared to back then, could the correct font ever be found?

I believe I'm needing to order the "LTC Globe Gothic Complete Family Pack", because Marc says they used to play games with the fonts for various reasons.

Perhaps I'll put it on my Christmas list :P

What I do not want is a pirate copy, so please, do NOT offer it.
On the other hand, if there's a cheaper similar font set, point me at the seller.

Why do you need Gothic Globe?

The fonts don't have to be the same, we just need correct information.

Marc thought it was plain Arial. I'll confess that I haven't looked at that too much.
