This should be an interesting excersize, though I will acknowledge a couple Aging fails.

Now that I look at these numbers, I would admit to liking the idea of going out and Travelling - anyone have a ship ready to head out?

Ackehece,

I'm in the D.C area ~ you might consider a position with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

And I am a Canadian....
Meaning I am not exactly who they are willing to recruit :) My security clearance would be nearly non existent. Non government / non intelligence would be possible but the NGIA is not in the cards. Even then I would need a sponsor willing to take on the risk of hiring a foreigner. (Canadians can not qualify for a green card lottery even Oo )
I can legal work in the UK, Australia, and a few other Commonwealth countries will little to no issues though.

This one of those things that sometimes comes up in RPGs, the players inject themselves into the game as themselves... or, at least as they see themselves.
If you were to characterize your own stats and skills how would you stack up as a Traveller character? You might take a little liberty on the tech level given that you would be in a Traveller universe....

Hell, right now?

I bet with all the camping, fishing, hiking, sailing, martial arts and outdoorsman skills I've accumilitated I'd have a killer D&D charcater :)

As it stands now I have no combat rifleman skills (though I've shot rifles and revolvers), no carousing skills, no forgery skills, no piloting skills, no navigational skills (other than googleing my destination or buying a map at a gas station), I build my own computers, I've done various sports, I even had an impromptu stunt driving course via my old film days ... wow.

But, I have no LOTUS-123, no business administration skills of anykind...hmm, what else? Admin?

Argh...need to go run errands.

You have an Education of 15 (and Intelligence of 14) but a Soc of only 3? Now how did you manage that... :)

(On a side-note, what's Carousing 's real life equivalent?)

think you just need to read his skill list... painful but definitely headed to soc 3. Looks like he missed his freetrader payments due to a business downturn and everything went to hell on him.

imtu : carousing = party animal

My aunt thought I was suffering from more than simple depression, and "my character's" essentially been "forced" from every job with the promise that "this'll be the last time we bother you".

It of course isn't, and "my character" was even intentionally denied jobs because of this. "My character" couldn't even get a simple job flipping burgers, doing stock, or even scraping up dog s__t off the sidewalk for some kennel.

With other 50,000 job listings, most of which were entry level, you'd think "my character" could have gotten at least one. "My character" got two, but one recently cut "my character's" hours out of spite relaying back to what "my character's" extended family thought was a good gesture.

As a result "my character" has not been able to make his house payments, and other neccesities of life, occasionally camping out in his own house without power, phone or even water.

"My character", up until 12 hours ago at a meetup at the San Francisco School of Digital Film Making, is perpetually surrounded by people concerned for him, enacting passive aggressive harassment, including, but not limited to, a bouncer, who had never been to previous meetups, telling him to join a group infested with health professionals, and, as such "my character" is at his wit's end of what to do short of filing a lawsuit against ex-doctors and extended family.

And that's how my character spent his summer vacation. :)

(On a side-note, what's Carousing 's real life equivalent?)

Ability to do any one or more of the following:
1) drink socially without drinking to excess
2) drink heavily without hurling
3) ability to schmooze in bars
4) ability to find a party
5) ability to enjoy a party with/without recreational chemicals
6) ability to plan and host an enjoyable party (but may require additional skills to pull off)

no navigational skills (other than googleing my destination or buying a map at a gas station)

Dude, if you can read that map, you've got at least Navigation-0. It seems most people couldn't find their way down the block with a map, nowadays.

And, sorry to hear about your NPC interactions. You need a new referee.

Computer 3, Admin 2, Liaison 2, Streetwise 0, History 0, Linguistics 0, Chemistry 0

(192cm/100kg so somewhat hefty, no jock and on a desk job, too intelligent, a technical degree, average income, working in a coordinative position in IT, grew up in a city, was a history buff, not an english native speaker, was a master chemist in highschool)

Something like this (not sure/exact (the 6's could be 5's etc.)):

The EDU value is likely incorrect and bound to change.
