I've been trying to think of a list of basic vehicles that would be needed to play the game: enough to handle merchant and light mercenary campaigns.
This is the first list I came up with:
1) The real basics
ATV, wheeled and tracked
air/raft (open and enclosed)
ground car
ground truck (small and large)
speeder
Transport Plane (cargo/passenger variants)
2) Military and Para Military
GCarrier (tech 11, 13, 15)
Tracked AFV (tech 5, 7, 9)
Tracked APC (tech 5, 7, 9)
Grav Tank (tech 11, 13, 15)
Fighter Plane (tech 5, 7, 9)
Bomber (tech 5, 7, 9)
Grav Interceptor (tach 11, 13, 15)
Big Helicopter
Small Helicopter
If you had these basic ones, with a selection of heavy weapons to switch in and out I think you could handle most things.
I've noticed the lack of a big truck, and grav interceptor/fighter and details of the guns on AFV to be a problem with most "basic book" campaigns.
Are there more needed for a basic list?
