Just curious as to what the OFFICIAL WORD and the ideas of others were on this.
My thought had always been that the jumo grid created a bubble around a ship, thus protecting it from whatever was in jump space. Thus, you could space walk during a jump in order to repair damage, etc., just as long as you did not stray beyond the field.
i have heard others say that the grid reacted with the skin of the ship. With this theory, there'd be no way to be outside the ship in jump space.
Another bonus to theory 1 (or perhaps a curse) is that things that are in close proximity to the ship would be taken with it into the jump, whether it be debris, another (smaller) ship, or an enemies missile (doh!).
Having never read an explanaition in the offical documents, I figure it is up to us GMs as to creat the details, but what do y'all think?
