Ancient - Absent Friend
All preorders for Gateway to Destiny bound for a US destination have shipped as of 5pm, May 14, 2004.

Overseas orders will ship out on Monday (May 17).

Thank you to all who preordered!

Hunter

Yes!! After a couple of months of studying the book and its supplements, I might actually run a PBeM! Yes! It will be the return of the Tomo'Q Marul!

It is now over 2 weeks and I have not received my pre-order yet! I have sent 3 emails over the past week with no replies. Can anyone help me?

Mark

I haven't got mine yet either; they were shipped a couple of weeks ago but the mail can be wierd sometimes. I'll ask Hunter about it...

I'm also looking forward to mine. I imagine there's been an issue that has arisen for those few of us that have not yet received our copies of the book. Knowing Hunter from his posts here on COTI, I'm sure he's focusing his efforts toward addressing that as quickly as he can, so I'm not overly concerned about it, just eager.

With Regards,
Flynn

And FWIW this weekend / Monday being Memorial Day Weekend the USPS was closed on a Monday and I'm sure there were postal workers taking vacation days and such.

Casey (getting mail stacked to send out to the local post office at the moment)

I'm not sure if it's comforting or disturbing to hear that others haven't received there orders.

I do find it disturbing that my emails haven't been answered. The 3 emails I sent all went to different addresses in the hopes of getting some reply. I should also say that I tried to fax my question in and the fax number given on the Contact Page has been changed to an unlisted number!

Anyway, I asked and paid for "Domestic Priority Mail (2-3 days)" for shipping and would have thought to have received the order by now. Note: the part in quotes is straight off of my order details.

Hopefully, this will get straighten out soon.

Mark

Flynn: I guess the shipment got intercepted by corsairs somewhere around Georgetown.

I got my copy about a week after they were sent.

Sorry to hear others are having trouble getting their copies.

Damn those corsairs! Seems I may have to make a trip into the wilds to get my stuff back! May as well get into the role.

"Aaarrrr, avast there, ye scurvy wench, and prepare to be boarded!"

How's it look, Paraquat?

Thanks,
Flynn

Has anyone in the UK recieved their pre-order yet? I ask because it's been a month.

I know it's hit the FLGS in the UK, as it's up in Leisure Games, and I'd like to know if anyone has recieved it direct.

Thanks

Ewan

Agreed. It's a beautiful book, and it really sets the standard for me of what a sector book or similar regional book should be like.

Hats off to QLI,
Flynn

At first, it was looking like a bit of a data dump to me. I mean 4 sectors. In the CT days, that would have been a lot.

But you dig a little, and there are a lot of neat ideas in there. I probably shouldn't say any more as Flynn has stated that he wants to play in one of my GenCon pickups.

No worries, Psion.
I do look forward to your review of the book once you've had a chance to absorb it. I personally like the book a lot, both in content and presentation, but I do have a few issues with some of it. (Those who've read the Gateway section here during the PDF release last year can read my thoughts on the racial traits.) Other than that, I think it may well be the best Traveller book released since DGP went out of business, and that's putting it in some very good company.

Enjoy,
Flynn

I think you're spot on there. I am probably going to drop your post straight into my house rules.

Indeed. It still chaps my hide that unless something changes, we will never see a reprint of World Builder's Handbook.

</font>
I'm working on formalizing those up a bit, so you may want to wait until I have my suggested Racial Ability Score Modifiers written up a bit more cleanly and professionally.

More later,
Flynn

</font>
Amen! The WBH was one of the best Traveller - nay, one of the best RPG books ever. I used to get lost in that book for hours. DGP was great.
