Traveller Software

I have just begun playing with a 3E GT mechanic. I just spent the last 23 years (Arthur) DMing D&D 1st & 2nd Edition. In addition to the software I created for that game I found many useful programs on the web. Can anyone tell me where I can find some good software for Traveller, things like a character, ship, world, sector, weapon generator or things like Jump calculations, cargo passage calculator etc? Thanks, gary.

As far as Character Generators, if you're sticking to GURPS, anything else will need to have the resultant characters/equipment converted. Traveller is "not GURPS", but GT is the Traveller Setting ported over to GURPS, and modified. For generating GT Characters, GURPS Character Assistant is supposedly very good.

BITS (British Isles Traveller Support http://www.bitsuk.net ) releases Hemidan's Universe, which again, will manipulate Traveller (not GURPS Traveller) stats, but in this case, conversion is much easier;

GURPS Traveller Shipyard is a program that let's you build GURPS ships using Traveller specs. You can google for it. The same author Tom Bont did a GURPS Character program too with most of the Traveller material on it. I have both.

Look on the BITS site for 101 Starships this was a FREE pdf of entirely GURPS stats of hundreds of pre-made ships for the Traveller uni. This will save you mucho time as well as give you insights on how to build them.
