Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
It has occurred to me that since discovering CotI I tend to spend quite a bit of time parked in front of the computer. I see that many others are doing the same. So how much time do you spend here at CotI?
OK. Who's the lone figure who spends 3-4 hours here? And, why didn't they answer "Not involved because I spend so much time on CotI" on the second question?
I spend 2-3 hours a day here (sad, yes...) at abouttwenty minutes at a time, I am not involved because it seems that women don't want me to be and I'm going back to school, not working, but otherwise I check it when I have a chance.
Generally I check this site, see if there's anything new (often there isn't) and go somewhere else, then come back.
I answered that I did not want to incriminate myself becaue I am on the computer at work "ALL DAY" (it just happens that the CotI site is at the top of my favorite sites and I "Accidentally" hit the button occasionally).
I check in often; just long enough to make a comment, but the time does add up.
I spend 2-3 hours a day here and I tell my wife what is going on in "Our World".
She likes it when we chase Trader Jim around the Universe and I shower yellow liquid disrespect on his shoes (right here in public!)
I keep waiting for that knock on the office door announcing the arrival of the IT Police coming to talk about my Internet Usage. At home, I seldom spend more than one hour per week of free time on the computer, but I hit these boards each time.
I used to spend a lot more time than the 30m-1hour figure. I tend to do 2 hours at a shot, 2-4 times a week. Often, this also involves outside research before posting.
Hang in there vegascat, straybow
CotI is our international geek support network!
Perhaps we could hold a national Traveller support group/ festival down on North and Beaufort Streets in downtown Normal, IL where it all started. Right up until around 2003 the GDW sign still hung where it all started.
I Confess! I Confess! I got my first CT LBB's by buying a huge pile of them from a distraught gamer at a LA sci fi convention for only $20.00[ his character had been killed off]. When I saw him the next day and he wanted to buy them back I pretended not to have any idea who he was...I'm so ashamed.....
