The quintessential traveller books?

if you can find them for a fair price I would have to say TTB, the career books (LBB's 4-7)and either TTA (preferabaly) or a LBB adventure to kick off the campain. then I would start looking at suplements (starting with Citizens and the data libary books) futher adventures and ailen books. if you can't find any secound hand go for the reprints clasic books 0-8 is a must then its hard to pick betwean suplements, adventures or the aliens books as they all have stuff you will be able to use strate up and other stuff you will have to let lie for a wile, the JTAS books and and finily clasic games should be left for awile unless you and your group get right in to it. also you may find the first 80 odd pages of GURPS Traveller and the MegaTraveller Imperial Encyclopedia usefull.

Lexx, I was in the same boat as you. Passed by the opportunity to get into it at the ground level, and didn't get into it until the mid 90s.

I definitely recommend The Traveller Book.

Heck, I still use it.

For some reason there is still "new mint" material on the Ebay. I just picked up Arrival Vengeance and it was as great condition. I look at the old books and High Guard is in the worst shape. I beat that into the ground...

You still use TTB?? I have it...and suppose its in good condition but haven't opened it in years.

These days when I ref its with T20book, maps and a laptop. My theory I fill 1 backpack...no more.

Usually, when I run, it's MT, so I grab the MT milk crate and go... but occasionally I deal with CT-only situations.

Aramis is right, of course: MegaTraveller books are very useful, and I think the Imperial Encyclopedia and Referee's Companion are invaluable.

Yeah but when your gaming how much time do you take out for paging through the books. Would slow the game down a lot.

The ebooks will be nice for that...much quicker.
