The cane gun is a disguised firearm that is frequently encountered where there is the need to carry discrete firearms. The cane gun typically first appears with the introduction of percussion ignition systems.
In all aspects, the cane gun appears to be nothing more than ordinary cane or walking stick, but concealed within is a firearm. Depending on the size of the weapon, the cartridges it fired may be anything from a body pistol round, rifle or even shotgun. Most of these weapon are single shot, and require dissassembly to reload. They also lack stocks and the provision for any kind of sighting system and are generally useful only at short range.
At TL 8, multishot versions of the cane gun are avialable using MetalStorm technology. These can gave up to 15 round stacked in the barrel, and some can fire their rounds fully-automatically like an SMG. High tech versions may include memoryplastic stocks and even holographic sights. GMs should adjust stats accordingly.
Cane guns are generally treated like body pistols and are typically outlawed at Law Level 1.
The cost of the cane gun varies with the construction and decoration. A very basic model will cost around Cr100. A fancy walking stick concealing a 10 shot SMG might cost Cr1000 depending on the materials.

At TL 9, a laser version of the cane gun becomes avilable. Initially, these are expensive, one shot affairs because the cane gun does not have room for much energy storage. Highr TL versions may have additional shots equal to thier TL -8.
