Their own intelligence based goals - some of these races build starships and may have multi-world governments of their own - but always with the instinctive drive 'gifted' by their original maker. I am still pondering if the bullets can reproduce - it would make sense for them to be able to do so.There could be more than a bit of truth in there.
If the Abyssal is treated as godlike by the bullets, whose end do the bullets serve?
I think the god's 'intelligence' is completely alien to us, like trying to reason with a slime mold and asking it how it can grow in such efficient structures (I'll expand on this if need be).If the god is not perceived to be intelligent but produces servitors which are, could that mean that the god has an intelligence that is just too difficult to be perceived by humans?
Perhaps the more generations removed from the original god the more independently free willed they become, alternatively their free will could be similar to ours but with the instincts built in waiting to be triggered. Imagine being called back to be absorbed by your abyssal maker and having no control over your own body to stop it, but still completely aware of what is happening. If the bullets are intelligent, are they independent? What is the extent of their free will? Are they offspring, or true servitors tied to the will of their (to our perceptions) unintelligent god?
Do the gods come into conflict with each other. Do they conquer lesser races, exterminate them, absorb them?If they spread as far as mapped, what could that tell us about the power of their god to ensure their propagation? If it has no hand in assisting their spread, what has enabled that to occur?
You have given me much to ponder - all good stuff.Could Grandfather sit down (so to speak) and have a cup of tea with them and discuss the establishment of races and universes?
