T5 submissions?

Just to further clarify my perspective, growing up with this game system was fun, but I never thought in a million years or more that I'd ever be involved in the game industry on any level, that included wanting to write for Traveller. But, I do, and having done that I'll move onto other things.

One of my curiosities about the Imperium was why there simply weren't more material covering other sci-fi circumstances and themes set elsewhere throughout the Imperium and beyond. The current Mongoose situation is pretty confining, so I'm hoping that some other companies can step up to bat and allow us creative types to exercise their muscle.

Thanks for all the replies.

Looking forward to seeing some Traveller with your name on it. Although you'll probably have to put "Blue Ghost" in the credits somewhere so we know it's you.

I'm told that I have to be nuts to be the way I am, so why not talk in the third person occasionally.

And thanks for the laugh.

Beating a dead horse

I hate to bring this up, because I've mentioned it before, but my objective is to contribute to Traveller by giving players some unique settings in different parts of the Traveller setting.

I'm not really asking for anything I write, or anything anybody else writes, to be part of the OTU, and all that goes with it, but am hoping that whoever has the capitol for a T5 license is open enough to accept alternative settings in places like Hiver, K'Kree or Aslan space, or other places that are set in the Traveller setting, but aren't restricted by the need to be "official".

I guess I'm still thinking in terms of the CT supplements/adventures. When I think of those, I don't really think of any of those adventures being chiseled in stone. Stuff like "Murder on the Arcturus Station" verse "Leviathan", where one has lots of official Traveller material in it, where the other is more of a exploratory campaign where the ref and players map their own sector with a trade ship; i.e. one has more OTU flavor, the other is more in line with the generic aspect that was CT.

I'm kind of hoping T5 will graduate or lean towards the CT thinking of a little more openess with the new rule set.

Thanks.

I was all set to start writing an adventure module but it appears that the guidelines are secret and are controlled by someone who is not associated with FFE (and talks in the 3rd person). Did I get this right?

The T5 guidelines are not yet public, but are directly controlled by Marc Miller. DonM's just the release agent for Marc.

The MGT Guidelines are outside of Marc's direct control, but grounded in (and more restrictive than) Marc's guidelines to Mongoose... but don't allow for T5 materials.

That's very helpful, and a ray of hope for a lot of would be authors.

Thanks.

Like me. :) I'd love to get into writing for Traveller, but am really unsure of the best way to do that. I got a commission from some little company a while back to do an adventure for MgT, but he backed out once I was done. So I still got that one and some other ideas just waiting for a clear path to publishing. From what I see here I guess I just have to wait?

wow, Murdoc, that's very uncool that happened to you. I took one of the completed adventures I had and shuffled it off to Loren at SJ Games.
