Just curious, Psion. What do you do with the JOT feat? Does it give a skill level of 1 in all skills the first time you take the feat? If so, that becomes a much more desirable, and powerful, feat.

I disagree that it would be all that powerful, especially if it didn't give you a rank in skills that you don't already have ranks in. But the solution to me seems simple enough: it lets you use trained-only skills untrained.
We always had JoT applied to a field or range of activities in the couple of CT games I played eons ago. Combat, or shipboard skills, or admin/trade type skills, etc. Otherwise they were too common and too powerful.
In T20 you could have JoT treated the way Cascading Skills are treated in T5
