Still on target?

Not an avid follower of this project but is it still on track for the June 2007 release date. As I notice all references to T5 have been taken off the Far Future Homepage welcome splash.

Personally, I cannot wait for the things that QLI have in store as this promises to be more dynamic rather than just a rule system, as for me, setting takes precendence over rules any day.

A few things have crossed the playtest boards. a new small-craft design system. Makes HG look hard... ;)

Aramis, are these from the Man himself or just third parties offering their suggestions. And, is the release planned for a single volume or boxed set OR multiple booklets, as I need to put an advance order in with my FGLS and they have no idea as T5 appears nowhere on their radar screens.

The small craft design rules are by Marc, and they're pretty interesting

Interesting? At a glance I'd say very interesting. I feel myself being sucked in again
Must find time to play with it though even that glance at it and I see I have some constructive criticism if the points have not already been hit. Off to the T5 playtest board sooner or later. Yep, I think it's got me

Well, speaking only for myself I am anxious to see the final product come to market. This hardcore CT man is hoping that T5 is a success for the sake of the franchise.

I'm in no rush to see it to market. I'm jonesing for a well done traveller that is self consistent, and says in the front "Don't try to justify your point of view for this edition with materials from prior editions."

Araega?

No, but Rob, you're definitely middle-ground material...

Yes, this system I speak of is from MWM.

I'd certainly like to see the product but have to go with Aramis on this as I think it is probably the better business decision to get it right instead of right away. I'd like to see T5 succeed and bring Traveller back to the lips of the RPG masses.

To this end, I'd say product quality is paramount. Yet another "fringe RPG" without some distinguishing feature and high production values will get lost in the wash(admittedly anything not WotC D&D is "fringe" market penetration and market segment wise).

Unless I'm not seeing some market window or there is some financial reason to get revenue ASAP, rushing this to market IMHO is not a wise business decision.
