Starships

/////// DECK 02 ///////

The guest deck, Deck 02, is a temporary stay space for X-boat crews, standby/substitute crews, and passengers boarding X-boats and contains the briefing room, quest staterooms, and guest’s common rooms. The briefing room is used by a dispatcher to explain the navigation plan to an X-boat pilot. There are two guest’s common rooms, and the starboard side is used as the main dining room, and expensive furnishings are used compared to those for the crew common room. The port side is used as a refreshing room. Both sides are equipped with docking airlocks. Surrounding the briefing room are nine individual crew staterooms (one double occupancy room).

/////// DECK 03 ///////

The cargo deck, Deck03, is the cargo bay of fifty-eight-tons capacity with two cargo air locks carries consumables for the tender and to replace food and consumables when resupplying X-boats. Also on the cargo level are an electronics repair shop and a machine shop*1).

/////// DECK 04-15 ///////

The most striking interior detail for the express boat tender is the ship bay. It measures 36 meters by 24 meters by 12 meters; this twelve-meter dimension can be expanded to 24 meters through the simple expedient of leaving the ship bay doors open. Any ship or group of ships that can meet this dimensional requirement, up to a total of 450 tons, can be carried by the tender through jump space. Solid frame brackets within the bay are used to secure any ships or cargo to prevent damage while under acceleration. The entire ship bay, with the door closed, can be pressurized to allow access to the exteriors of any ships or boats carried within while avoiding the interfering bulk of vacc suits*1).

/////// DECK 16-17 ///////

The lowest level of the ship is the drive deck with all jump drives, maneuver drives, main power plants, a drive control room, purification devices and fuel pumps. The engineering compartment is a two-story atrium space, and a catwalk for inspection is provided between the drives. Two air locks allow access to the exterior from this end of ship.

The express boat tender constructed using a type 1000-ton hull, is fitted with jump-2 capability and 2-G acceleration. The ship has a total length of 80.5m, a weight of 5810 tons, and a full load of 6843 tons. Fuel tankage is 277 tons; jump requires 150 tons of fuel, but in insystem operation, the ship uses this tankage to re-fuel express boats instead. The standard bridge is complemented by a Model-6 fib computer and fire control for four turrets, plus communicator relay facilities. The ship has twelve staterooms and six emergency low berths. The crew consists of twelve: a command officer, two bridge staffs, two engineers, three gunners, four X-boat maintenances, one medic. Additional slots for the crew are taken up by replacement X-boat pilots awaiting missions. In addition, the ship can add 10 more X-boat pilots and their passengers.

TARON-CLASS TUGBOAT

The Taron-class tugboat is a small craft that maneuvers other spaceships by pushing or pulling them, with direct contact or a tow line. These boats typically tug ships in circumstances where they cannot or should not move under their own power, such as in crowded harbors or narrow canals, or cannot move at all, such as X-boats, barges, disabled ships, or modules.

I really like the use of two craft, docked in opppsite directions in that image, to give views of both sides.
