I'm not going to blame Mr. Nats for making a screensaver using my drawings without my permission. If he doesn't like my paintings, he can fix them himself. It's as simple as painting black or trimming the text.
I struggle to understand why he would criticize my work for such a simple task.
He's not criticizing. He completely respects your work. That's why he wants them in a screen saver. He'd like to see your work more than occasionally coming to this thread.
He's simply wishing that there were versions without the text descriptions. For him, the text impacts the overall image. Certainly he could crop it out but by doing so, he's cropping out parts of the original that he'd prefer to keep. Your framing of the picture is part of the aesthetic he'd like to retain.
You, of course, are under no obligation to change your work. He's simply stating that for his personal screen saver use case, he'd like them without the text, and without having to perform surgery on them.

I couldn't crop out the text without losing half the image on a lot of them and wouldnt really be inclined to bother with all that for a screen saver tbh. I haven't actually used any of them as screen savers, just because of the text. Yes I was paying the bloke a compliment. But, whatever, it isn't important. Bloke obviously has no idea what I am talking about lol.
Anyway keep up the good work Magmagmag. Images are great and far better than I could do with 3d modelling. I am wondering how long a typical ship model like that would take to make though ...

Sometimes it's just to express that the situation isn't serious - in many senses, neither a major incident, nor a situation that requires careful attention to etiquette or protocol, nor is it one with significant consequences.

It's the little details: those bent ladders with missing rungs make it seem more real.

The ladders aren't bent. The shadows they cast on the hull look bent, but the ladders themselves are straight.
Fair enough. Still missing a couple of rungs, though.
