There are no gauss smgs in any CT/MT or TNE supplement that I know of. I would be only too happy if someone could point me towards one

It's probably worth mentioning that the gauss pistol write up in Journal 13 gives it two firing modes, single shot semi-automatic and four round auto-burst.
The first reference to anything like a gauss smg that I can find is the description of the TL13 gauss pistol in the T4 supplement Emperor's Arsenal which stresses its autofire and rapid autofire capability, two handed use and magazine of 100 rounds. The same supplement gives us TL13 gauss shotguns as well.
At TL14 there is the VRF gauss pistol, a light gauss pistol with a rate of fire of 50 rounds per second, magazine of 400 2.4mm steel pellets also the illustration looks like two handed use is intended. There is a TL14 gauss shotgun as well.
Gurps Traveller gives the stats for a Gauss smg in the Ground Forces supplement.
T20 also lists the CT gauss pistol, again single shot or auto-burst, in the first Traveller's Aide.
