If an author disavows some artillery, does that make them non-canon cannons?Depending on the point in the loading process, smoking in a cannon can be a very bad idea...
IMTU airlocks are the designated smoking areas in spcecraft, because they by definition have to be able to filter out tainted atmospheres (and worse). Now imagining the hipsters smoking in the airlock with the outer door cracked to suck out the smoke. It'd be illegal on high law level worlds because it cuts heavily into insurance companies' profits.
Good point, a world's Law Level might have an effect on it's legality, availability and acceptance, the same way alcohol and other addictive/harmful substances are on some worlds. Then again, a megacorporation that mass produces tobacco on some agricultural world might try to make tobacco use (and other substances) acceptable across a sector through advertising, cultural manipulation, free gifts or even compulsory trade mandates, tariffs and military action. Now imagining the hipsters smoking in the airlock with the outer door cracked to suck out the smoke. It'd be illegal on high law level worlds because it cuts heavily into insurance companies' profits.
And thanks for reviving my old thread. Nice little trip down memory lane...Depending on the point in the loading process, smoking in a cannon can be a very bad idea...
