Security Leak: Islands In Jumpspace

Flynn

Good morning, All,

In my T20 campaign last night, we unfortunately had a small incident with a faulty jump plot, and in the resulting confusion, the party rolled a natural "00" on the percentile table for jump mishaps.

Although I had a number of options open to me, I decided to shunt the players into a pocket universe, specifically the Microsm Pocket as described in Issue 2 of Security Leak Magazine in the article "Islands In Jumpspace" by Mike Mekesh. I read it here in the online version of the Security Leak fanzine:
http://www.securityleak.com/slm/issue_02/islands_in_jumpspace.html

Does anyone know if UWPs exist for the worlds given in the map that comes with that article?

Also, does anyone have a better image file of that map? It's hard to read the one that comes with the article, unfortunately.

With Regards,
Flynn

I could see about russling up a photocopy, if you want to PM your address. I could search the archive...and hopefully pull something down...ship it out, say, Thursday.

Only help him if it helps the party get home.

I'm one of the players in Flynn's game. Actually, I'm looking forward to exploring the microcosm a little bit. It is a very interesting and intriguing concept.

Paraquat,

Any special requests for things you'd like to explore in this pocket universe? Any encounters with Major Races you'd like to see, or would like to avoid? I like to try and tailor my adventures to meet the desires of the players (if not without a twist, of course), so I welcome your input.

Thanks,
Flynn

It's already there, in the Hiver Centralate.

Personally, since I'm not comfortable with the K'kree as encounters, I figure I might design one just to give me the excuse to gain that familiarity. But if the players have other thoughts, I'll go with them, just because it'll make the game that much more enjoyable for them.

The beauty of the setting is that every Major Race is present, and within parsecs of one another. It gives one the chance to use all those Alien Modules at the same time in the same campaign. I would definitely like to exploit that opportunity.

More later,
Flynn

Actually, I think it would be neat to encounter all of the major races. Esp. the Hivers and the K'kree, since those seem to get slighted in most campaigns.

Since we have a Vargr in our crew, an encounter with the K'kree would be most interesting.

I can picture Toby trying to talk his way out of that one. :D
