Scout Service Logo

Depends what you want it for. If it's just personal use, there's one you could copy in one of the CT books - I just know there is, but I can't find it right now. My first thought was Book 6, but nope, it's not there. I'll get back to you.

Thanks for that.

Any idea if there is a copy online anywhere? I had hoped there would be one in the avatars on this site, but no joy.

Cheers

David

Well, if you have the $7.95 you can buy the GURPS version called First In from e23.

It's got 5 different scout insignias on the inside cover. My version of Adobe 7 has a snapshot tool and that let you put the pix on the clipboard, which you can then finalize in MSPaint or another program you have.

The only drawback is they're black and white (I have the dead-tree version).

sure they do, in fact there are copies and variations through out the book...

(inside the Table of Contents)

#1 Operations Office Security badge
#2 A non-english badge with an 8 pointed star
#3 Truth & Perserverance badge
#4 "To Enlarge the Common Life" badge (Pony Express)
#5 "First In" badge (same as #2 but English)

p118 larger version of the Pony Express (without the slogan: To Enlarge...)

and other variants through out the book.

Remember the GURPS line is administered by Loren Wiseman, and they won't go too far a-field from Classic Traveller. While the nitty-gritty stats for GURPS aren't CT or MT etc, they tried to stay on target when it comes to performance and power. A good example of this was a recent post on the GURPS BBS by David Pulver, explaining that the GURPS stats for Laser Rifles was done to emulate Striker performance (whether you like Striker or not is up to you). I got the feeling that most of the GURPS interpretations of Traveller took this level of detail into consideration; another example being GURPS Starports book which was written by JM Ford, who of course wrote the Starport Authority articles in JTAS.
