Greetings all!

I've been away a goodly while...in large part due to being run over by a car while in the middle of a crosswalk. It's taken some time, a lot of time, but I'm stubborn and back again. I can walk again, I can use my arm, I got my prosthetic teeth etc ad nauseum...and I can sit in front of the screen long enough to read messages again. LOL

Good to be back, good to see you all, old timers and new folks alike. I look forward to the chat and learning.

Welcome back to the board. You have my sympathies. I had the exact same thing happen to me in 2004, only it sounds like I fared better, no broken bones and only a slight permenant injury to my shoulder. I should have known better than to cross on the green.

I am glad you are well enough to be back.

I got clocked really well. I was in the middle of the crosswalk, about halfway across the street when I got it.

Shattered & dislocated left ankle, broken left fibula, broken left tibia, torn left ACL, torn left Miniscus cartilage, torn spleen, torn liver, bruised kidneys, displaced left clavicle, totally destroyed left shoulderblade, strained ulnar nerve plexus, massive concussion, sheared front upper teeth, various contusions and such. Near death experience.

But I'm back to fighting in the SCA, back to hiking, soon back to playing Traveller, and doing the usual sewing, mothering, and so on. Permanently misshapen shoulder on the left and badly scarred left leg, but I'm still here and recovered marvelously. It was not my time.

Pity. My legs were my best feature. Oh well, I'm getting up there in years anyway.

Not this year, no. Hunting for a house at the moment and wasn't able to manage it. Perhaps next year, we'll see.
