Reading the Dark Nebula Map

I've recently bought the Classic Traveller and JTAS CDs from Far Future Enterprises, which are a treasure-trove of classical gaming material.

Anyhow, I'm very interested in the Dark Nebula map, which is, as far as I understand, a non-canonical variant of the Dark Nebula sector, and a bit more interesting than the canonical version IMHO.

I'm trying to read the stellar designation colours. So far, if I understand correctly from the rules, YELLOW (or maybe a WHITE Surface box) stands for a habitable world, RED for a non-habitable world, and a WHITE star for a system with no planets (asteroids?). Am I correct? But what does a BLUE star stand for, and what do the different relative sizes of the star dots mean?

Also, I understand that a planetary surface box with a circle is Solomani, and with a triangle is Aslan, but what does a star stand for?

The star-shaped markers indicate homeworlds; Kuzu for the Aslan, Maadin is presumably a sector capital or the like for the Terrans.

Star size and color is indicated by size and color of the stellar circles.
