What protection do VAc Suits and Combat armor give to radiation?

The rules say Vac Suits provide "some" protection.

Combat armor provides "moderate" protection.

But in game mechanic terms what does this mean?

VAc Suits would provide protection against the radiation in space, but I dont think you'd want to jog around Chernobyl wearing one.

Look on page 388 for levels of radiation damage.

I would lower the effect of a radiation event by one, two or three levels depending on what kind of protection you have.
