Prior History Prison

spank

SOC-13
I have been thinking about putting together a prison career for sometime, last night at work I roughed out the first part of it;

Roll 2D6-2 for crime severity
-1 for each award earned
-1 Per rank earned
+(7-soc)

Roll (2D6)-{SOC}+{Severity} for Sentence

2 Parole
3 Community Service
4 Monitored Release
5 Work Release
6 House Arrest
7 Civil Service {Non Hazardous}
8 Occupational Rehab
9 Conscripted Labor
10 Military Service {Support}
11 Minimum Security Prison
12 Undercover Release {white collar crime}
13 Prison
14 Hazardous Work Detail
15 Military Service, {Combat}
16 Undercover Release {blue collar crime}
17 Maximum Security
18 Undercover Release {Felony Crimes}
19 Undercover Release {Intelligence agency}
20 Super Max
21 Life
22 Death Row

Alright If someone with a SOC of 1 Rolls a 12 on the first roll He can end up with a 16 for severity, If he then rolls a 12 for Scentencing That means he can end up with a 27, So I need 5 more options, Any suggestions?

22 Life on a prison world
23 life at forced labor
24 Life at Forced labor on a prison world
25 Tortured to death
26 Medical experimentation subject
27 Forced labor while a medical experimentation subject

I looked around but I could not find the article, can you remember where you saw it?

I should have mentioned it in my first post, but what I was trying to do with the table was organize it from most life changing to least, for example 2-6 should allow you to keep your existing profession, 7-10 would require a carrer change, but you would still not be jailed.
Part of the intent here is to allow the use of other carrer paths as part of the history.
I should also note that even with a 4 soc you only have a 1 in 5000 chance of getting life or worse.

Aramis I really like you ideas, I had thought about using such punishments, but was not really sold on the idea. Seeing it written down however it looks great.

Correction

Accutually the odds are 1 in 1296, I included the odds of rolling a 4 or worse for soc, and I also used the wrong number too....

I did a LBB4/5/6/7 criminal career chargen thing a while back. It includes stuff like terrorism as well as more mundane crime, and special crimes (stuff like threats or use of WMD as part of the crime).

I'll dig it out and post a link (if I can find it............)

Thanks

Looks good, one of my pet peeves is wasting time to reinvent something. Of course I spend alot of time doing it, but I still prefer to avoid it when possible.

Well I personally would alter Ingram's work if I wanted to implement it into MTU but I would definetly use it as a source. It is probably easier and less time consuming to make modifications to the work of another or to draw inspiration from it than to start your own from scratch relying totally upon your own grey matter.
