Patent of Nobility Card (where are you?)

Getting back to the original spirit of this thread, mine came while I was away:

Viscount Guy Garnett SPIN 1520 Tavonni E567000-0
Knight of the Domain of Deneb: SPIN 2311 Treece D432866-8
Sir Guy Wildstar Garnett: SPIN 1705 Efate A646930-D
Sir Guy Garnett: DIAS 1840 Kinos E55887A-6
TAS Membership: SPIN 1910 Regina A788899-C

Here's mine....

Knight of the Iridium Throne (didn't have a name on it)...

Durguu Core 3028 A57346B-D. I think I will "flesh it out" and create a character that hails from it.

Okay,

I looked my world up on Traveller Map, and here's the attached survey data from Traveller Map.

Durguu 3028 A57346B-D Ni O: 301 Im M2 V
According to UWP:

Starport A
Size: 5,000 Miles
Atmosphere: Standard, Tainted
Hydrographics: 30%
Population: Tens of thousands
Government: Captive
Law Level: Extreme

According to map, it appears to have a gas giant. This looks like a pretty interesting world.

My alias (William Durrant) is the Duke on Patu/Core (subsector M) ... which I guess makes him the Duke of Cadion (the same subsector that has the world of 'Reference') unless we have any other Dukes from that subsector.
Wouldn't your Duchy usually be on the subsector capital world if you are Duke of the subsector? I thought that was the general rule on that sort of thing.

Good question. No doubt there'll have to be some tweaking and shuffling but I'm loathed to pester MM with trivialities until he's finished his marathon shipping labours (and had a brief rest).

UPDATE: Oops, should have read more of this thread before responding. Playing a little catch-up.

Did you ask for those locations?

Summary so far

21 people have reported in. Some have multiple cards. Three of Bloo's cards and both of Original_Carl's cards are in question. Of the 29 other cards (and not counting TAS memberships) we have...
  • 1 Duke
  • 1 Viscount
  • 1 Count
  • 19 Knights
  • 7 Undeclared (assumed Knights)

Looked at another way is...
  • 16 from Core
  • 7 from the Spinward Marches
  • 1 from Massila
  • 1 from Fornast
  • 1 from the Empty Sector
  • 1 from Lishun
  • 1 from Lay Sector
  • 1 from Diaspora

So far.

It feels a little like watching a political election on TV as the results trickle in. We've yet to see anyone from the Solomani Rim, Vland, or Illelish.

According to the Kickstarter site there were 2085 backers who should, I think, get...
  • 79 Dukes
  • 17 Counts
  • 34 Baronet/Baron/Marquis/Viscount/Count
  • 428 Baron/Marquis/Viscount/Count
  • 4 Barons (for FLGS owner)
  • 1116 Knights only (for Kickstarters)
  • n Knights only (for beta)

I didn't quite know how it was going to work, so in a rambling and only semi-coherent email to MM I submitted a Milieu Zero character (Joseph Hemdian, First Baron of Yori, born 131-0200 on Abbanol (Core), died 344-0249 on Yori (Spin)). I also gave the names "William Durrant" and "Peter Trevor".

"William Durrant" got a random Dukedom, "Peter Trevor" got a Knighthood (and TAS membership) on Yori plus two other random Knighthoods, and Baron Joseph Hemdian is mentioned in one of the rules examples in the book (p213). :)

the right way....

Hemdian, my friend, I think you did it the right way. I don't think any of us know how this is suppose to work. Even MM has learned in the process. It would be very complex to adjust chosen Dukedom's (noble titles) to the regional sphere (subsectors, multi-systems). This may be something that gets worked out in a FF(COTI) driven webpage.

Everyone,
Real world politics (between Imperium citizens) have been introduced when Duke's argue over fantasy subsectors...lol. :file_21:
But we need to all be openminded. Let's keep noble marriage, inheritance and appointment in mind when designing territory.

Now that I've received my entire package.

Count of the Third Imperium REAV 3220 Khakhan A988AA8-E
Sir Aeksarrgh EMPT 0936 Akiar D58A562-9
Knight of the Iridium Throne CORE 1901 Zaniin B6945AB-B
TAS Membership: EMPT 0936 Akiar D58A562-9

Cool to have be Count. Sad that its not (nor are any of) the homeworld I requested.

Maybe next time.

Here are mine:

Knight of the Domain of Deneb: SPIN 1305 Nakege D591314-5 (an Amber zone)
Viscount: SPIN 2405 Keng E5718CA-5
Sir Herb Petro: OLDE 1629 Olney A511865-B
TAS: OLDE 1629 Olney A511865-B

Patent of Nobility Card

I am now Sir Drakon of Slath,

located in the Setten subsector of Fornash (M, 0535).

Its a rock with thin atmo, slightly higher gravity but enough water.
Low tech level and only a few colonists occupy this company rock. Orbiting a
tiny M8v star, with 4 other rocks, just an out of the way system only 26 parsecs from the Imperial Capital.

The people may be poor, but now they have a Knight to protect them from, whatever it is Knights protect them from. It's a low tech and low law planet, so maybe I'll be needed to keep the peace. Sancho! My horse! (What is the name of the 8 legged beast that is the logo for scouts?)

Also I joined the TAS on Laraa, a subsector capital in Dadudashaag (P, 2634). I am curious as to whether that is the world of my birth and I've been sent to this backwater rock around a dim red star as punishment or reward. Or I picked up my membership while travelling abroad.
