MT Combat clarifications needed.

Tranq rounds - um how does this work? I see a few paragraphs deliniating the various types of tranq rounds, but nowhere have I found an explination of how to apply tranq damage.

Here's how we used to do it. Snub pistol tranq round, pen 1/-, dam 1, danger space 1.5.

If the target is unarmoured (or you allow aiming for the unarmoured body parts) then if you hit you will get 1, 2, 4 or 8 points of damage depending on level of success.
According to the Special Damage:chemical rules on page 94 this damage is temporary. If the dose controlled variety is used then the maximum damage that can be inflicted is equal to the characters life force inoperative level (3 or 4 for most NPCs/PCs).
If the standard variety is used then if the tranq damage equals or exceeds the total life force then the character dies from drug overdose, the average NPC better be careful. You can always shoot them twice ;) .
Note because of the danger space you then roll to hit adjacent squares but only with a pen 0, dam 0 so exceptional success is required to get 1, 2 or 4 points of damage against unarmoured characters. You'll have to shoot them twice ;) .

If the target is armoured then the exceptional success rule is the only way to cause damage. Shoot them lots

Hope this helps.

P.S. just had this nasty thought. Use the lethal variety. Same effects as above but each turn take 1 more damage point. You can always give them the antidote later, once they are unconscious or have surrendered. Should make the interpersonal tasks easier
