Meson Gun width/diameter

jfetters

SOC-14 1K
I am doing some ship deckplanning and this particular design has a meson gun. The length of the deck that houses the weapon's tunnel also shares the space, logically, with other passages, but I am looking to see if there is anything out there that discusses the diameter of a spinal weapon in addition to length.

Thanks!

TNE uses length = 8x width for a lot of its guns. AHL uses a significantly narrower aspect ratio.

You're probably safe if you assume that the minimum aspect ratio is ~1:8 and the maximum aspect ratio is ~1:200

Volume of a cylinder = pi*r^2*h

You know the volume of the gun (dt*13.5), h is the length of the gun (= the length of the ship), so you can calculate r.

eh? Math? What are all those numbers and letters? ;)

Seriously, thanks, guys - I think this will help a bunch.
