Whatever happened to the Traveller computer games? Did they become free/abandon-ware, or are they just not on the market right now? Does anybody know?

Marc still asserts the copyright, but allows them to be distributed for free.

Okay thanks. MT2 came with some character generation software, and since Signal GK is down (or has changed hands) I was wondering if it was hanging around somewhere.

Thanks for the replies.

I actually still have both of them. Bought them brand new and played them back in the day, what 20+ years ago.

Don't know why I've kept them all this time.

I used to use one of them to generate NPCs. It's got a nice little PC generator.

Both of the Paragon adventures are available at Freelance Traveller (and have been for years); go to the Information Center, Computer Connection, and Traveller Programs for DOS and Windows. They're a bit more than halfway down the page.

Very cool, thanks.

Next question; I was able to use two of the ancient artifacts against the "pink slime", but never finished the adventure. I'm assuming someone has. Is there a really cool screen shot at the end, or do you just accomplish the goal and then continue on in the game?

Yeah, it was fun :) I saved some of the planet, but could never open the final temple thingy to get the thing that stops the slime.

Me too. I didn't play the game, but rolled up tons of characters for tabletop RPG play. I wonder if it works on (spit) Windows 8? I've still got it right here on my computer desk shelf. There are plenty of chargen utilities now on various websites, though.
