General MegaStructures?

Boughene Station.

Boughene/Regina (SPIN 1904). One orbital station, 600,000 residents. (This is canon -- yes, almost all of them live on the Station.)

If everyone gets a 4Td stateroom and there's literally nothing else there (like power, fuel, grav, starport, and I don't know... food production?... it's 2.4 million displacement tons.
I have an orbital station with millions of people (non-OTU). I did work with an AI model to calculate how big it was, generally, but the characters never went there so the details have not been fully established or fleshed out. It is somewhere between a prison and housing project for the unwanted in the system.

But it is many people per 4Td. They are packed in like salted fish.

The subsector also has another system with a Stanford Torus.

Spend 2 weeks dreaming, designing, calculating, drawing out, and populating the space station.

"Ok, so you're entering orbit. You wanna head to the space station?"

"Nah!"
We've all been there!

I learned my lesson. As much as possible they pick where they are going at the end of the session, and it is ready for them for the next session. Let's face it that does not always work, but that is what we strive for. And in this case they, perhaps wisely, decided the heist opportunity in that floating hell was not something they wanted to do despite the potential payoff.

Mind you, like many of you, I sometimes build for world building sake just to create something.

And you never know, one day in the future they may decide they want some macguffin, and I will need to come up with a location for them to find it. Perhaps it will be somewhere on that floating cube of oppressed souls.

I posted this graphic last year, maybe here, also in sfrpg group. Here is a paper about dyson spheres around white dwarfs with gravity and heat on the surface: https://arxiv.org/abs/1503.04376

abs:

A Dyson Sphere is a hypothetical structure that an advanced civilization might build around a star to intercept all of the star's light for its energy needs. One usually thinks of it as a spherical shell about one astronomical unit (AU) in radius, and surrounding a more or less Sun-like star; and might be detectable as an infrared point source.

We point out that Dyson Spheres could also be built around white dwarfs. This type would avoid the need for artificial gravity technology, in contrast to the AU-scale Dyson Spheres. In fact, we show that parameters can be found to build Dyson Spheres suitable --temperature- and gravity-wise-- for human habitation. This type would be much harder to detect.

Historical precedent, or at least a related oddity: Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong (since demolished).

By the late 1980s, the walled city contained roughly 35,000 residents[1] within its territory of 2.6 hectares (6.4 acres; 26,000 m2), or approximately four football fields; resulting in a staggering population density of over 3 million people per square mile.

You could always go for something like this:

Something like "The Wall" project in Saudi Arabia where you have a miles long city say, half-a-mile--maybe 1000 meters--wide that ranges to 20 to 50 stories (or more and above and below ground) tall and is a fully enclosed, artificial, environment in a hostile natural environment. Maybe something like that on a tidally locked planet at the habitable boundary between night and day that encircles the entire planet...

The solar facing side is entirely solar panels while the night side is a heat sink to get rid of waste heat. You could have a ultra-fast train system that circles the planet at regular intervals for mass transit.

I think it's money laundering scheme.

Now, if it was The Great Wall, it would be to control the population, with extensive face recognition, and limited area access.

And if it was the Megawall One, it would have an all powerful judicial force enforcing behaviour.
