LEGO Azun Arcology

Hovtej

Here are two photos of a physical model of the Azun arcology done in LEGO inspired by the renderings by Shonner in the image gallery and the cover of JTAS #15. The model stands 14-inches high. I need more bricks to do a larger, more detailed version. (I just saw a photo from Spinward Traveller with a background of the Regina skyline; that may be my next project.)

There may be enough neutral and brown shades of Lego these days to do azteching on a larger version. Not sure there are enough shades of blue available, though.

Very cool.

I should do another render. Maybe looking down-ish, like in your photo.

Your virtual "camera" has a lot a more flexibility than my physical camera (iPad). I was constrained to aerial views. Your ground-level shots give a much better feeling for the height of these structures, but other views of your Arcology would be most interesting!

Thank you. Good suggestion. I need to get more LEGOs in any case. I see another BrickLink.com order coming up. Some of the bricks have surface variations that would help break up the large plain areas also. Shonner's model incorporates some interesting variations. "Azteching" is an interesting theme, like in Bladerunner.

I guess you refer to this thread's pictures when you talk about shonner's model...
