Language question

So, should Language (combat) be an automatic skill for Soldiers / Marines? It is a part of regular US Marine Corps training, or was for me at any rate, back in the old Corps, kids these days...

My reaction would be a yes but I'm biased and I know it.

Do Spacers have a battle language? if so should there be Language (Naval)?

What about Parents that speak different primary languages? Are the children bilingual?

Just questions that popped into mind.

Since you can get language skill off of the skill charts for Soldier, Spacer, and Marine (column 6) AND from my time in the service not everybody learns the "battle language", no not automatic.

Now, this is different than learning the slang for the given service, but this is covered by the automatic "knowledge" one gets for each term of service which covers the slang, the ceremonies, the day to day operations, the normal daily duties of a given service.
