K'Kree repoduction

DeltaX15

SOC-11
Has any data been published about this?
What I'd like to know is the gestation period for a K'Kree, and the age range a female will produce viable offspring.
To put it in context, If I generate a clan member "Patriarcs Aide #3, Body guard #2" who has three wives, aged 56, 32, and, 44, how many children will be inthat familly?

I can't find anything in classic Traveller Alien Module 2 K'Kree about reproduction or K'Kree children.
I don't believe there was a MegaTraveller K'Kree module.
I can't find anything about K'Kree reproduction in JTAS or Challenge
I can't get to my Gurps K'Kree
I don't have TNE K'Kree... if there was one. There should have been one as the K'Kree were major villains in TNE. That might be your best bet.
I know nothing about T4 and I don't believe Mongoose has covered the K'Kree.
Possibly T20 did something?

Well, they are essentially horses. Use your imagination. I think GURPS addresses this, but I can't recall what it said.

In the meantime, here's a crash course in ....

All we know for sure is that age of "service entry" is 20 K'Kree years (24 imperal)... they are NOT horselike in that.

It's worth noting that military parties don't have wives (and thus don't have children).

Thanks for the replies, and I was expecting that Blue Ghost's link was going to point to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEImD_r6D8o

I'll have a think on this, and if I come up with anything that looks sensible, I'll write it up here.

It's worth noting that military parties don't have wives (and thus don't have children).

According to AM3 they do. Wives and children of a military family are stashed away in a safe home before the party ventures out on mission.

They are not part of the Party that one is playing. They're left at home, and thus inconsequential.

Yes, it does.

GURPS Traveller Alien Races 2 page 66 said:
Females give birth to a single K'kree after a local year's gestation.
.....
K'kree live an average of 103 years. Adulthood begins at 20. They begin to age noticeably at 50 years.

Note that a K'kree year is 1.2 Imperial years long.

Using Humans as a comparison, reproductive functionality begins ~3/4 of legal adulthood age.

I suspect that between the ages of 50 and 60 years (depending on the individual) would be when reproduction ceases... human female fertility tends to end just past the halfway point of a "good food, good medical care, low-risk" lifespan.

To put it in context, If I generate a clan member "Patriarcs Aide #3, Body guard #2" who has three wives, aged 56, 32, and, 44, how many children will be inthat familly?

That would depend on many other factors... whether the male could financially support more offspring or not, whether the male was home a lot or elsewhere, so he could not service his harem as often, whether there are any social constraints on offspring numbers by clan/position/etcf.

AFAIK there were two more planned MT Alien Modules that were left (sadly) unpublished (I don't know if they were ever finished): Psionic Races (Zhodani and Droyne) and Strange Races (K'kree and Hivers). So, AFAIK, the K'kree work was not published for MT.

Correct. Only Solomani, Aslan, Vilani, and Vargr were published for MT by DGP in modules, and the Jonkereen were in MTJ. GDW released a couple of Contact! articles in Challenge specifically for MT, but I don't have that CD, and my dead tree is inaccessible at the moment.

Disagree.
The fact that a member of a military party has (or has not) wives and children should influence that members actions.
That being said, I'm not sure which way the decisions would go:
1) K'Kree A. I've got no wives and children, you've got loads, I'll charge the bunker
or
2) K'Kree B. I have many wives and children, you need to add to the familly, I'll charge the bunker.

I believe that we have settled that only Gurps really covers K'Kree home life.

That looks to be where you should invest some time and money.

As a vague rule I seem to recall Gurps said gestation for 1 year and hormones kept the mother unactive sexually for some unspecified period afterward to allow care for the infant.
