Is this game still active?

Hi, I've bought some decks for this and I love it.

Does anyone know if the game is still ongoing or should I be hoovering up any packs I can find as they are the last stock out there?

They do small print runs of the ship and supplement decks periodically. Not sure how recently the main game has been reprinted, though. There were new things last year, IIRC, but of course the last year has been anything but normal.

Thanks for the reply. It seems it is still active as you say GypsyComet. I've managed to buy some more stuff for it just lately that came back in stock 🙂

The two newest sets got delayed by the pandemic, according to a conversation I had with them at a convention in February. They are also subject to the fickle and heartless nature of games distribution.

The last date on a News item is Feb 2020. I don't see any new products (4 ship decks, 4 expansions, 3 extras) since the last time I browsed it, I'd guess 2-3 years ago. The most recent thing in the forum is a few days shy of a year old. I'm not seeing a way to inspect the cards, which I was able to do last time. I seem to recall there being some bonus cards, like maybe were given out at different Cons or something, but am not seeing anything about them. IIRC, the Broadsword ship was one of them.

I'm guessing it's dead. Kind of a shame. Would've liked for them to release better rules that made the game interesting.

Ah, no, the cards weren't on their site. TravellerDB had the cards, and they're gone now, as of a couple years ago. Saw it in the CCG forums just now.

Travellerdb's host put the deckbuilder utility on github for those who know how to download it and make it work. Within this archive, you can find the images for the cards a couple directory levels down, so you can see if there are any promo cards you don't have.

Elsewhere on CCG's forums, I found an angry goodbye from DB's former host - from the context, it appears CCG's host said some hateful things about America, and DB's host then swore off any desire to re-establish his site or allow it to be hosted by CCG's host, who had in an earlier thread offered to do so and may have even donated toward DB's hosting fees in hopes of keeping them afloat.

Let this be a lesson: don't inject your politics into an apolitical business, especially one with a very small customer base.

This post was about 2 years after the last CCG News item, so the angry separation is unrelated to any demise.

I tried to find the card images (the only thing I'm interested in) but wasn't successful. Do you have a direct link to them, please?
