Intergrated Battlefield combat

I wonder how resilient these system are when subjected to a serious EW efforts. all this tech is all well and good when your comms are secure and unjammable. but I am not sure how useful they will be against someone able to hack or jam the systems.

it may not be a problem for the US in another Afgan type war, but in a future war against a major power, over-reliance on things like GPS and these network techs could be a massive weakness if they are suddenly kicked out form under them.

Many tools of battle are battlefield-specific. What might be of little use against a technologically potent nation can be very useful in asymmetric warfare against terrorists and guerillas, and asymmetric warfare seems to be the dominant paradigm at present.

Well, in a war against what the US would consider a "major power" (there are only two), the things shown in that link won't be deciding factors... ;)

Many of the advanced C&C systems deployed lately have suffered from interference by relatively low-tech countermeasures. A GPS jammer can be constructed with off-the-shelf components for around US$40, and some commercial devices in use within our borders have caused potentially catastrophic interference with airport and military operation:

I also read an article within the last two years about commercial mobile phone equipment being used to interfere with US military communications in Iraq.
