COMMENTS
The Estigarribia Class Fleet Carrier is the second in Sidur Haski’s design trilogy for the Imperial Navy. It is a heavily armed, highly effective weapon system, intended for use as a first line combat spacecraft, or as a total system control weapon. Its 6, 100 ship fighter squadrons offer a great deal of tactical flexibility, while its auxiliary vehicles produce an astonishingly detailed array of second to second intelligence data. Its relatively slow maneuver speed is compensated by a fearsome array of high technology weapon systems.
Exemplifying a common characteristic to Sidur Haskian design standards, The Estigarriba Class is designed for maximum flexibility to suit whatever tactical situation it may encounter. One example, The INS Apidistra, (FC-108) was even outfitted with what is known as the “Ziru Device”, a Black Globe Generator of unknown manufacture, in an experimental (non combat) mission. Many examples are seen with additional weaponry, fuel tanks, or a myriad of other features installed.
The rapidity of the Estigarribia Class’s Squadron operations is in part due to the high training of its crews, coupled with its 1700+ ton launch and recovery system. The L/RC is a complex of twin launch tubes, a nullgrav recovery deck and auxiliary vehicle hangar, high efficiency lift and readying conveyor cranes, and the impressive (and to the observer, quite harrowing!) twin focused-grav catapults. Automation combined with crew interaction and judgment offers maximum results in a full alert scramble.
The first six of the class were laid down in 1098, with the christening and maiden missions in 1102. The subsequent ships were constructed at shipyards dispersed around the Imperium, with Sidur Haskian advisors supervising the assembly and tooling. A short-lived controversy arose at the designation of the INS Xiwa (FC-125), which some detractors saw in poor taste, due to the nuclear war on that planet in 1095. The official statement was that the ship was commissioned in respect and honor of the 80% of Xiwa’s population killed in that unfortunate conflict.
The Estigarribia Class Carriers are named for the systems of the Concord Subsector in the Solomani Rim Sector.

COMMENTS
The Valiant Class fighter is an effective, heavily armored, and relatively simple craft, ideal for carrier-based operations. It mounts twin fixed-forward beam lasers, and a centralized missile rack pylon.
Its heavily armored hull is comprised of collapsed Ceramite hexagonal cell composite, and is centrifically molded into one cast piece, to which all the additional features are affixed.
The Valiants assigned to the Estigarribia Class Carriers are organized into 6 100 ship squadrons, stationed three squadrons per launch tube.

COMMENTS
The Harpoon is a 20 ton heavy fighter specifically designed to fill a ground attack role, and it fills this role nicely. It is slow by attack craft standards, but is intended for employment after principal enemy spacecraft have been neutralized. The Harpoon sports an expansive 9 ton ventral missile magazine, which can deliver a formidable payload to a variety of ground based vehicles, installations, personnel, and defenses. They are typically deployed in squads of ten, with fifty stationed per launch tube.

COMMENTS
The Augur Class EW Craft is an incredibly sophisticated ship designed to excel at electronic warfare/recon operations on a system wide scale. The Augur is mostly computer, a model 9/fib is installed along with additional sensor pallets and EW interdiction gear. In extreme emergencies, an Augur can be used to replace a damaged or destroyed ship’s computer on the Estigarribia via a fiber optic link. The design was produced especially for the Estigarriba Class Fleet Carrier.
The crew works in a spacious operations room comprised of the bridge and two staterooms linked together. The control room has been nicknamed “The Cinema” by the highly trained three-member (Pilot, Sensor Ops, and Commo Ops) crew. This ship is often used as a remote operations base and coordination center.
The Augur is slow and unarmed, requiring a fighter escort when it is in operation.
The Internal Electronic Warfare Pod (IEWP) EM Signal Jammer is a device that scrambles Sensor and Communications signals in a large spherical range. It can be coded to the Carrier so the carrier can “see” through the disruption field. Typically, most of the ordered Augurs also mount the 5 ton Meson version of this device.
The Sensor Obscuration Platform (SOP) Sensor Mirage Generator is a device that uses a reticulating sweep array to generate numerous phantom “targets” on enemy scopes. The Array is programmable to simulate transponder emissions, EM signatures, and even false IR signatures are possible. The intricacy of the phantoms produced by this machine corresponds directly with the number of phantoms it can generate.

The Mk IV is a multi-mission Transport Shuttle. It holds a respectable amount of raw cargo, as well as a fair amount of passengers. The extra couches can easily be removed if the situation requires it.

Note: I have abandoned posting the Batteries/Batteries Bearing line from the USP. I be dipped if I can get the Confounded thing to line up right when I post it!

My good Baron, do you perhaps have T20 rules for your user defined components?

1 IEWP EM Signal Jammer (10 tons, Crew 1, 1 EP, Cost MCr 30)
This seems very small to me for a system-wide signal jammer, but perhaps it leverages off the sensor/comms suite?

1 SOP Sensor Mirage Generator (2 tons, Crew 1, 1 EP, Cost MCr 30)
This sounds interesting, what does it do?

"Indeed Baron, we should really get together and discuss our common ship architecture and see if we can both reduce our r&d budgets. I'll have my secretary call yours about planning a meeting for our respective engineering and planning team leaders."

Good evening also to you Falkyn, been playing with your little T20 Ship Design ss just now, couple questions to drop you offboard later. No big bugs, its mostly a joy to use, thanks. I've been (among other things) checking out some of the ECM/ECCM options of the various design systems, after Thomas Rux nudged me. I'll see what I come up with and post it later on CotI.

Lord Falkayn,

"The Sensor Obscuration Platform (SOP) Sensor Mirage Generator is a device that uses a reticulating sweep array to generate numerous phantom “targets” on enemy scopes. The Array is programmable to simulate transponder emissions, EM signatures, and even false IR signatures are possible. The Jammer Pallete on the Augur is indeed linked to the Model 9/fib suite...

Indeed, Milord... We of Sidur Haski always welcome prospective freinds, what? Reducing production costs can indeed be quite a weasel to grasp at times...

I see a great partnership in our future, what?

By the by, Baron Saarthuran, ye wouldn't happen to have the UWP of Sidur haski handy would ye?

***Nice Carrier & subcraft btw!

As the fates would have it, Lord Liam, I have just petitioned the "landgrab" People for the development rights... This UWP is as of the first survey, and things have changed at home (more people, Starport being upgraded)

As it is listed inasmuch I as I have seen:

By my reckoning, based on the numbers of outsystem transients, belters, visitors, and people joining the SHDF, its looking a little more like

A-ish 7866-ish 54 F-ish

Please come and visit milord, we need a best man for when I marry off my sister to Markov, what!

See everybody. We need to get in the habit of noting any design aids we use in our work so that the creator can spot problems and if we're lucky fix them.

Not only that but wasn't it fun to see the programmer lose it

Always try to fix my errors. Fortunately it was only an error with reporting, the figures were being calculated correctly with the design (for the technically minded it was still reporting standard High Guard fuel). The fix is now at

http://usa.spis.co.nz/andrew/HgsBeta.zip

The calculations may be a bit off, but (first) it's still a nice design and (second) you can always recalculate or execute a few draftspeople.

Milord Baron, we still need to discuss ship trading. Perhaps I'll have Ms. Pew, the Director of Michaelson Industries (and a close personal friend and relative) contact you about trading designers. And maybe we can bring Falkayn into it as well...

Lord Andrew,

You sir, Are a True Genius. I LOVE that HGS Program. You, as the Solomani say, "Rock"

Lord Liam,

The Gas Giant Problem has long since plauged my homeworld. My Great Grandfather struck an accord with the TL8 worlds Vueegmala and Mercator, a use of thier giants (six in all) in exchange for technical aid in the areas of Environmental and Starports. Ant then there is Tromiishur, captured by SIdur Ishki. Vueegmala (C6290348) itself presents a bit of a riddle, for which I will make a seperate posting... I kinda blows having to rely on outside systems for fuel, but it beats chipping Ice all day.

Sidur Ishki has had Sketchy Relations with us since the Ilelish Revolt. They made the mistake of picking the wrong side, while we acted like we chose the wrong side (all the while maintaining loyalty to Emperor Anguistus) We have an Imperial Appointment and are on good terms with the Archduke himself (nice guy) but its just a certain part of the Sidur Ishki population are not too thrilled by us. Still the Immigrants come for the Privacy and High Tech Facilities.

Lord Jame,

Sounds like a plan, good sir! If it wasnt for that blasted Reft sector, trade would be a simple matter.

One notes the higher law level with the atm 2 <very thin-trace/ tainted> at TL-8 dome living of 4 on Mercator vs the LL of 1 on Vueegmala, though have similiar govt. ruling systems.<aha>

Tromiishur's captivity prohibits (LL) it would seem all weapons save those for home defense. (LL-9). Still a B-class port at TL-C is nothing to sneeze at- gives ample opportunity for the spacecraft/ subcraft industry to follow your plans with an A-class yard at Sidur Haski..

One also notes that Sidur Ishki's animus towards your system, it also has the Navy A-class yards and will no doubt give you a fierce run for your money in the shipbuilding contracts you project...lotsa politicking to come, I foresee..<and some corporate skullduggery to keep the status quo>...things to keep an eye on fer. ;)

Excellent!

We and Sidur Ishki share the common gas giant resource problem, and tend to work in concert on such matters... Thier A yards have also in the recent past produced some of our INS designs under orders from the Iridium Throne. Specifically the Ganzir Class Destroyers (coming soon) and Valiant Class Fighters. They indeed have a top drawer operation over there, but Ive noticed that they focus a LOT on bureaucratic action, so it takes them a longer to get designs into space, what? They have always looked at us as minor system, based on our population, and that has served us well in the past. Still 9 times out of 10 we get on alrght.
