The older macs were different... disk i/o on a spu, video on another spu, comms/keyboards run through yet another spu... but for those, you're looking at macos 9 and earlier. Was really robust for dtp.

B on T: I've got two machines here; both run Linux - larger laptop is Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, smaller is experimental netbook, currently has Xubuntu on it, but that's sluggish. Will be trying low-overhead version of Mint on it soon
