The American System is if you fart down wind from a general you get a medal... I am inspired by the frogs ( french) here.

The French and US rules on wear of medals are so close as to be merely trivially different.

I am going to beg to differ, Since I have been decorated by both governments/armed forces... the french are vastly different in criteria and awards matrix...

Ileish.

While, I have no issues with the current version, shouldn't the Ilelish ribbon be mostly black reflecting their religious beliefs which is why Dulinor wore black? I would reverse the black and red stripes.

Magnus... I am beginning to find out that CT advocates... who are not up to speed on T4/TNE, GRUPS, and or T (Nth)power... get eaten alive for not knowing these things...

I will make a variant for you if you want it for personal use? let me know.

Ouch.

Hey now, don't let the...uh...well, just don't let them get ya down.

As for the whole Ilelish thing, I was trying to help not rag on ya. Also, I just learned about the whole black & Ilelish thing myself.

I say keep up the good work. It is nice to see good work, and the shadow boxes are cool too.

I was baffled, by the reception, I would think people would be receptive to someone making an effort.

Ilelish thing... I will switch up the color palate on the ribbon. I got your message and replied.

Coolness!

Me too, thoug sometimes folks aren't really crabbing as much as being overly perfectionist.

And I appreciate the effort! I think they are snazzy. Also, I like your Enlisted Rank stripes.

If you really dig doing them I got tons of badges and militaria that need doing up better than my hand sketches on an iPad. :D

Oh, and very much replied!

Canon enlisted Imperial ranks are a pattern of dots on a square. Chevrons are mentioned as a little used alternative in the Solomani Rim...

But note also: we see a chevron on a collar in either TTA or TTB... I forget which.

I appreciate the effort, but will note that if one labels something as OTU, it had better match established canon, or be done on Marc's instructions; otherwise, I, and many other canonistas are going to grumble, not praise.

Oh well... it is ironic how Book 4 says Purple Heart and the Burps/Gurps or T ( to the Nth power) says wound badge. Even in CT there was conflicting or flawed data. Hence the grand 'consolidated errata'. I think it is sad, when people lack the flexibility to embrace different interpretations that stay true to the notions presented at origin.

OK, so let's see if I've got this right; all OSM CCM and CSM ribbons have five bands, as follows:

Band # 1 (thin, extreme left) Domain/Sector Command primary colour
Band # 2 (thin, left of centre) Domain/Sector Command secondary colour
Band # 3 (thick, centre) Arm of Service, per standard uniform colours
Band # 4 (thin, right of centre) As per #2
Band # 5 (thin, extreme right) As per #1

This ribbon colour format to be common to all OSM, CCM, CSM, and Qual ribbons; honours ribbons to be coloured as per descriptions in canon text, where stated.

That correct, or did I get something wrong?

I don't know... I am having a beer working on deck plans

on the CSR, though you would receive multiple awards each with it's own medal and ribbon you can only where one award on your uniform, that's why you get Pips, Clusters ect. for repeats that you where on your ribbon, normally brass fro each additional award, once you hit five the collected repeats turn silver.

some awards preclude the wearing of lesser awards, like time in service awards, you may score a time in service award multiple time but once you hit the next hallmark you can no longer ware the lesser one (unless you go from non commissioned to commissioned, where one is for enlisted service and the other for Commissioned) or marksmanship ribbons or your Expert/Combat infantry badges.

I'd go along with this: Your designs, and the thinking behind them, are excellent - I hope more people chime in on this, too :)
