The fans have done useful things to help with Traveller 5th-edition.
Hemdian has produced excellent videos on character creation and the combat sequence:

You will also find utilities online produced by Thalassogen, Eaglestone and others. I love the fact you can get the computer to generate entire sectors in the full-on Extended system stats of T5. I had to tweak the data file to add names for 600 mainworlds and make some modifications, though, but in case someone's spreadsheet-Fu is not so developed, I left an essay on Thalassogen's site explaining how.

My nearly-finished sector resulting from this page is shown here. Oh, yes, the site can generate sector and subsector maps for you as a .pdf, based on generated or re-fed datafiles. To my shame, I actually haven't initiated a game in it yet. I will do so on Roll20.net. If people want help for the setup of a T5 game there, I seem to be the only one thinking about it at this time and I can offer suggestions and data.

Thalassogen links to Eaglestone's T5 utilities such as a Task Roller (I can't directly link to it but it is one of the tabs on the top of this page: )

Good job, folks. The SectorMaker and other things will of course be subject to any errata changes in the future, but for now with these tutorials and aids, it adds up to a playable game.
