Houserules

Bills College rules looks really good. I also liked that possibiliy of getting Carousing.

I'm assembling a list for the houserules I'll use. Many suggestions from here are being considered.

I think I'll go over the skill list fairly closely and think about a few changes.

Actually, David, It's not a bad idea, dropping the damages.

I figured out the meson guns by figuring out the volume of the sphere annihilated and then dividing by 8 to get base damage, Pen is irrelevant, divide by meson screen factor...

And yes, those damages do correlate directly to dice.

the x10DP for ALL CRAFT, including vehicles, not just starships, was in the Referee's Gaming Kit.

Cymew,

They aren't really my rules. They're almost a straight rip from LLB:5 High Guard, 1D-2 die roll and all. ;)

The carousing consolation prize is mine. The real CT college roll had a minimum result of +1 EDU; ie. your 1D6 roll would result in an EDU increase of 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, or 4. I just did away with the minimum; i.e. -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4, and threw in Carousing-1 as a booby prize for the -1 and 0 results.

You could add Carousing-1 as part of any college result though!

I like a Traveller that exercises a PC's mouth just as often as it exercises a PC's trigger finger.

Have fun,
Bill

The biggest tank weapon is the TL 16 rapid pulse Z-gun, Pen 79/5, Dam 30 dice. I simply wanted the most measly ship-based weapon (TL 8!!) to be nearly equivalent, since it only (ha! ha!) has Pen 73/7. Therefore I ruled it should be Dam 50 dice, not 500 dice.

Certainly, there's nothing scientific about it at all; I didn't even bother trying to work out that a ship's laser will have a metre-wide emitter and what the effects would be (that was TNE's job!)(yes, that's a troll, just ignore me...). I was only ever after GAME BALANCE.

That's where it's from! Thanks.
