Heaven and Earth

How hard would it be to do a scalable 3d system map from the data as one of the output types? A thing you could look at in large large scale and view with a zoom control?

What about incorporating one of those graphics generation programs like Terragen to put out a picture with the maps of the planet types, like they do on the IAI?
Planet Gen may be of use... ;)

Axial tilt has many specific effects on a game scenario.

For instance, playing out game episodes of the Imperial Marines invading the Joker's Hideout is nigh impossible, unless the Axial Tilt is juuuust right.

Hah.

Only for detailed World Gen.

Baron, your logos made me remember a question I have been meaning to ask for a long time:

What is the other font/language that is listed? I have seen similar letters in some of the other Traveller art over the years, mainly during the MT era.

What is that font/language, and is it available anywhere?

There are a few that look almost identical but the most common is Bilanidin. It can be found at a number of sites, including here.

Note: Bilanidin is broken. Vilani Headline/Standard/Serif should be used instead.
Really? In what way is Bilanidin broken? (I'm not disagreeing, just curious.)

I'm not overly fond of Vilani Standard/Serif: looks too derivative of today's roman alphabet (some letters backwards and/or upsidedown). But I've not seen Vilani Headline ... anyone got a copy?

Greetings and salutations,

Does anyone know where I can obtain Heaven & Earth 2? The website did not allow me to download it and the forum no longer exists.

Thank you for your help.

I'm not sure it would do you much good, Stuart was doing a complete rewrite and set up a test group so people could test each section as he wrote it ... but much remains unwritten. Your best bet is to stick with the original program.

Thank you.

My quest for H&E2 started with a problem with the original program (v1.0.8). When I enter data in hex 0207, it places that data in hex 0217. If I (or someone else) can get it to stop doing that, I would be very happy and eternally grateful.

Or direct me to where I can get a copy of Galactic that I can experiment with.

Is this version available anywhere?

The HEMailingList seems to be missing on Yahoo! Groups too.

EDIT: Apparently v1.0.8 is nowhere to be found anymore, from what I saw from another thread.

It would be nice if someone in contact with the author could persuade him to post 1.0.8 again somewhere (here, perhaps?) It might help to keep his market simmering in case version 2 ever does get off the ground. It couldn't do him any harm, it's already been out once.

Pretty please?

Of course, if someone wanted to PM me with 1.0.8, I couldn't possibly condone such a sinful act.

FYI

Stuart's last annoucement, made quite some time ago on the Yahoo group (which I am now unable to locate) was that he was essentially stopping development on H&E2 for the "forseeable" future.

He didn't say he'd permanently abandon it, but since the Yahoo group appears to be gone now, that is looking more likely.

I guess the code isn't available for others to work on... ?
As far as I know, Stuart never released any of the code. It was entirely his private project. It never was "open source".
