Has anyone come on any rare wood other than....

Hi Folks,
As said in a separate thread, my PC's have hit a chunk of cash and I - their faithful GM - am helping them burn that off.
One PC wants the grips on their 3 daggers to be replaced with special wood.
So, I know of the "Spruce Wood from the Lablon system
And the Howood Tree wood from the Violante system

Does anyone else know of other rare wood types from the OTU?

Thanks

Many planets with trees (not guaranteed) should have something distinctive, or a growth form of a species derived from elsewhere. Have they been anywhere memorable?
I can certainly make up a distinctive type of wood.
What I'd like to do first is find if there are other types of wood mentioned in the OTU, that I've missed.

I prefer to use the OTU when I can, before I turn to invention

Not sure that's what you look for, but the first tree that came to my mind (after howood) was the Leyden tree from Thorwald (Solomani Rim).
I'm sure there are others...

Other notable trees in the OTU:

Burrow tree (Tarsus / Spinward Marches)
Avnira (Arrilla / Massilia)
Glueberry tree (Pagliacci / Solomani Rim)
Rhala tree (Ilelish / Ilelish)
Siccradit (Kaflowe / Massilia)
Tlaosiear (Roakhoi / Reavers' Deep)
Wapawab (Marhaban / Empty Quarter)

Pretty sure this list is far from complete...

Thank you very much!!!

I never expect "complete" but I very much appreciate "more than I found"

What makes wood distinctive?
Unusual grain patterns
Unusual colors
Unusual weight/density
unusual strength/fragility.
unusual porosity.

So, what is normal? relatively (but clearly not truly) straight grain, alternating tan and brown layers, and between 500 to 800 g/liter. Exceptional woods run 350 to 1300 g/liter...

Anything that varies the key properties can be grounds to be distinctive, but most especially grain and color.

What makes wood distinctive?
They could also have unusual properties.
1. A persistent scent (good or bad, light or heavy).
2. Ch'hala tree. Bark sensitive to pressure (even sound waves), causing visual effects on the bark. (from Star Wars 'Heir to the Empire' trilogy)
3. Unusual visual property when placed in a unique light source.
4. Unusual audio or nervous system reaction when placed in certain atmospheric, light, and/or gravity conditions. Effects could be resisted by those in the know, but others are at a disadvantage.
5. Enhance or dampen psionic abilities in a small area. Could be only living specimens or wood processed in a certain way, probably very rare and can only be processed on the planet of origin. (loosely based on the ysalamiri, a creature from 'Heir to the Empire')
6. I'm sure there are other ideas out there.
