Guidebook- Where's the character sheet?

I just bought The Traveller's Guidebook, which has the below text on its description page (upon which I made my purchase:
If you already have The Traveller's Handbook - Characters and Combat, this book will add a ton more for your playing enjoyment. If you do not already have the Characters and Combat book, the Guidebook contains everything you need (ie: you don't need to purchase the C&C book).
However, on page 6 of the PDF, I have the following text:
Please note that this rulebook is not a standalone game system. It is intended to be used with the T20 Core Rulebook (The Traveller’s Handbook). Possession of this Guidebook for players and the Traveller’s Handbook is all that is required to use T20.
I found the latter text when I'd gotten all the way through the book and had not seen a character sheet. In order to have a complete "starter kit", do I still need to purchase Characters and Combat? If that's not the handbook (as its title implies), where can I obtain it?

The Guidebook is, in essence, the Player's edition. It includes certain things left out of the Handbook, due to the D20 STL requirements; the TGB is d20SRD OGL, not D20STL.

Things like how to actually spend points, and CGen example and the steps. It also includes the errata. (When in doubt, the TGB is more current than the THB.)

The TGB, however, doesn't include ship building, world design, nor T&C... those, however, are in the THB.

So, in the interest of clarification- is the actual, bona-fide T20 THB this?
