(as noted in the Pro athlete thread, Micheal Jackson is much better known world wide than say the King of Spain)

Michael Jackson is a pro athlete?
</font>[/QUOTE]You are correct! I goofed that one! How about Jordon not Jackson

TAS membership gives you access to the TAS Hostels and one High Passage ticket per two months, which the character can sell for Cr 9,000 (90% value) if he/she so chooses.

And I'm so glad, Your Excellency, that you did not take offense. My trade route, I believe, will be running through Gushemege soon, and I'd like to involve any, um, entanglements, you understand.

Don't worry, The SHDF (sidur haski defense force) is trained at being very polite and orderly when they search every inch of incoming starships. We'll X-Ray your seats rather than put a knife to them, no worries!

I've missed a bit here, but I'll chip in late...

Yes, I use subinfeudation.

IMTU, A Sector Duke swears his fealty to his Archduke, and through him, to the emperor. Each Subsector Duke swears his fealty to the Sector Duke, and through him to the Archduke and the emperor.

IMTU, it's generally the subsector duke who picks which of your heirs gets your fief.

Any of the "Lords" (knights, Baron-vassal, Marquis-major world) swear to their "Barons-major" (Baron-system, Marquis-cluster, Count-cluster), and through them to the subsector dukes.

Vacancies are filled by the Barons-Major, with the consent of their Subsector moots, as an interim. The Sector moot also ratifies these, for provisional status... the emperor usually signs off on these. But not always.

Any Baron-Major can strip a Lord of Fief and Office, but not of patent, rank, nor social title.
Any Overlord (SSD, SD, AD) can strip a Baron-Major.
Any sector moot can strip a SSD.

The emperor can revoke all noble titles and patents. As can the grand moot. Only the Emperor actually issues Patents...

Excellent. And this Imperial Patenting process is an actual Physcial Process, Like the Emperor signs a document, etc?

Should that be limited to Higher Nobility? (Dukes, say) Looking at the map, even on the County level, that is a lot of paperwork! I also see the Emperor overseeing a Brazil (the film) like setup that handles Counts on down... The administration of whos coming and going would be maddening... with the lower the status fluctuating way more than uppers...

I also saw it as purposely so, to be steeped in administrative traditions. Uses ultra specialized materials in all outgoing documents.

Perhaps even purposely primitive for security reasons. IE, Patents printed on THE Imperial Press. The Machine having its own inherent eccentricities that produce documents only it can make.

Impossible to forge, unless you have that machine. Or study the machine in such detail that you would be arrested...
