As an alternative to character mortality during generation, consult the following table on a result of a failed survival roll:

1 Traveller Killed
2 Traveller Disabled
3 Recovery, Partial
4 Recovery, Full
5 Recovery, Full
6 Recovery, Augmented
Character Killed: Self Explanitory.
Character Disabled:
One Statistic has a permanent value of 1 or the character is otherwise totally physically disabled. Due to the difficulty afforded by portraying a character in such a state, the player may choose begin a new character. Alternately, the Referee and player may be able to come to a technical solution to the character's condition, especially in a higher tech environment.
Recovery, Partial:
The traveller has some form of permanent physical damage resulting in loss of 1d points total from any physical characteristic or characteristics.
Recovery, Full:
The Character has by whatever means fully recovered from any injury. This can take the form of anything from natural healing and recovery to Cybernetic or cloned replacement organs. This should suit the campaign background and technological level.
Recovery, Augmented:
The traveller has undergone radical reconstruction techniques that have produced a 1d total bonus to the physical statistics, at an arrangement suitable to the player and Referee. This can take the form of Cybernetics or some other means, dependent upon technology level and Campaign.
