FFE t5 Dividers?

That image is actually a CGI mockup I did a while back when I was proposing a 3 ring binder format for T5. While there were a fair number of supporters, the idea was ultimately shot down for not being a feasible solution for marketing on game/book store shelves.

There was a page with pictures of them but I can't find it, 1 was the picture shown at the bottom of the page and the other 1 is looks like an LBB with a space to write on.
Those are the ones I've ordered.

That is a wonderful design. I really hope MWM will adopt it. Uhh, why was it considered "not a feasable solution"? Too expensive?

Binder formats have been groused about by retailers for years.

TSR finally had to go back to books over retailer and player complaints about the Monstrous Compendium.

Trinity fell right apart in the binder on the shelf from being flipped through.

Hârn likewise went to binding again over retailer complaints.

SFB has always been "Slice it then binder it if you feel like it" but shipped bound.

Essentially, it would preclude retail sales.

What Aramis said was exactly what had been explained to me as why binders don't sell. It sounded like retailers had been traumatized by the old Monstrous Compendium and swore binders off forever.

I always wanted to see a product executed that way since it would allow for easy updates and upgrades by just slipping them in. On the other hand, retailers want to sell you a whole new book when it is updated, e.g., Player's Handbook 3.5.

Ted: Both SFB and Hârn have retained binder-format, but ship as bound volumes.

I can easily see it for an RPG (Hârn is). I just can't see it not requiring some at-homme assembly.

Heck, My copy of Castle Falkenstein is in binders because the binding went and self-destructed. Arrowflight is about to do likewise, as are two copies of Rogue Trader.

Yep, I know three guys who have their RuneQuest III rules in protective sheets in binders, due to excessive use...

My RQII is getting to that point ... mind you, my standards of 'excessive' use may be different. Like, is it excessive when you've worn more than 5mm off the edges of each page? There are still some pale bits between the coffee-cup rings, too. ;)
