Favorite Sector

What is your favorite sector in the published Canon universe?

My two favorites were Reavers Deep (Aslan, Solomani, Imperials Oh my) the Keith Brothers made this a great sector to adventure in.

Trojan Reach- Again Imperials, Zhodani, Aslans lots of possibilities off the beaten track.

Has to be the marches for me, but only by a hair over the Solomani Rim.

I too prefer the Spinward Marches, for the simple reason that the amount of available information about it approaches the minimum I consider necessary to provide an adequate background for a campaign. Not completely, I admit, but it comes a lot closer than any other part of Charted Space. For two of the subsectors (The Sword Worlds and Aramis) the available information is above the mimimum and for District 268 and Regina it's getting closer.

The Solomani Rim is the second best documented sector, but not nearly as far along as the Marches.

1st place goes to the Spinward Marches. After that it's either the Trojan Reaches or Theta Borealis.

Gotta be the Solomani Rim. My first dip into the Traveller universe was the game Imperium. Lay the map sideways and upside down and it fit.

Spinward was too busy for me. Reavers Deep had promise but it was never fully developed (at least from what I had). Dark Nebula was an interesting game so may have made a good sector also.

The Marches, without a doubt for me.

Too many possibilities for adventures, conflicts, ad nauseum...

More than enough opportunities for my players to get into heaps of trouble!

My version of Foreven with Far Frontiers coming in a close second...I always like places where the Zhodani are the good guys...the Marches does this but still is too much tainted by history when they were the villain with the curly mustachio twirling it off scene.

While not my favorite sector, I am really fond of the 4 sector block by Judges Guild, and used it a lot because it was such a nice big block. Sadly, it was decanonized.

So, what sectors are canon and who owns them ?

I know at 1 time JG had theirs. Glimmerdrift, and Ley among others.
Spinward and Solomani Rim are GDW
Reavers Deep was FASA
Gateway was QLI
Old Expanse was the High Passage Group
Foreven was generic sort of, it was mapped out and avalible.
Trojan Reach subsectors of Egyrn and Pax Rulin were in LBB Adventure 4 Leviathan by GDW
Vanguard Reaches?
The Beyond?
Corridor?
Others??

Hinterworlds and sectors right around them. Lots of opportunity for crazy interaction with people who want to do something from a Chinese menu to you.....

Judges Guild was Ley, Glimmerdrift Reaches, Maranatha-Alkahest, and Crucis Margin, in a domain sized block, of which just under 1/4 was imperial space. But these were all decanonized explicitly by AOTI.

The MT Domain of Deneb was in MTJ or Challenge. Don't recall which.

The Islands subsectors were in TCS (Adv 5).

I like Ley Sector as published by JG, but I do also like the Gateway as written by MJD. In both versions I have a few minor, house-ruleable issues (TL of garden worlds, poplation of uninhabitable worlds and so forth). The main thing that makes Gateway stand out a bit more than the JG version is the write-up given for its history--even though it should have had something closer to the JG version of the Khuur League.

Spinward Marches and Solomani Rim are even in first for me, with my version Foreven being in second.

My recollection is that JG and Paranoia Press were explicitly decanonised. So that leaves GDW and DGP sectors, and possibly the material from High Passage, FASA, and Group One.

High Passage is almost definitely canon - the Old Expanses was the core sector of TNE. FASA's stuff is of varying probability: Reaver's Deep is also almost definitely canon - various GDW Maps show the sector with borders identical to the FASA material; The Far Frontiers is probably canon - more from the fact that there's been little controversy or complaint over the material.
