Droyne Trade networks

Is anyone else intrigued by the idea that all through known history the Droyne have been quietly operating their own shadow trade network connecting say the Zhodani with the three Imperiums for instance?

It's one of those few official canon things that actually does intrigue me about the official setting. I think it's untapped territory for gamers that would make for some really great gaming sessions, fiction, and adventure seeds.

That would require the Droyne to have access to tech way beyond 3I capabilities and to be able to hide it away from prying Imperial eyes.

Consider me interested (actually IMTU the Droyne can still use a special ritual to access ancestral memory of Ancient era tech as a last resort).

In My Universe, the ANNIC NOVA is a Droyne ship, with jump power supplied by a "Pocket Universe" the Droyne are tapping. Remember, the ANNIC NOVA does not require a hydrogen jump bubble in order to jump. The Imperium is discretely looking the other way, as no one is sure what other goodies left over from Grandfather the Droyne might have. What they found on Fulacin scared them quite badly. The battery really shook the Imperial scientists up. See Adventure 3: Twilight's Peak.
