COTI LARP OOC Thread (Players Only!)

OOC: I need a clarification on something. Did the security guy hassling my Hiver start shooting at him, or are there other people shooting from down the hall after killing the lights? Are thier lights in the MedLab?

Question: Does the security Guy appear to have any physical symptoms of some kind of disease? Any blemishes? The Stuttering appears to have happend from two separate sources, from the man and the voice on the recording.

Observation: If you guys keep pointing guns at Frank, he's going to put Larvae under your beds one day, you mean humans! (hehe) And he won't pay Child Support, either!

OOC: This game is fun!

I'm not pointing a gun at Frank. In fact, Baron Jame Benson doesn't even have a gun, and just wants to get away from Security! So there.

OOC: Sorry Baron S...a Hiver wasn't exactly what Steven was expecting to arrive on the crime scene...on the other hand, being a man of faith as well as science, he didn't shoot you, may I point out.

Yes. But a wee chaotic at present.

Ref says: I know that this is a players only zone but I was wanting your feedback in that we will implement a "Take 20 rule" whereby I would allow a "miracle" to happen eg. Frank escaping the spiders. The limit for these miracles would be 3 per character/group of characters (assuming that cats have nine lives and the sq root is 3) after that, if they are in a deadly situation they DIE PERIOD.

I will post details once I get some feedback on the Technical Details portion.

You are welcome at any time! The "Players Only" refers more to keep out wandering citizens not involved in the game, and not as any preclusion of the GM (Referee?) We could definitely use your input!

Baron SvG, maybe you should go back and look at what Bromgrev is telling Frank about what's under places in the Scout?

Ref says: Another friendly intervention, I hope.

We are in desperate need of players for this game. If you think that you have what it takes. A posting or two every couple of days, I promise that I will do my part to post something new almost everyday.

Interesting times lies ahead, for the Pride and those brave souls who will venture Planetside to Farpoint.

Notwithstanding, the good Baron's comments above, this is a strictly Player's Only Forum. Queries, I take through PM so as not to add spoilers or if you follow the postings correctly answers are contained within.

I have no place posting here. It is the equivalent of the talk shop round the tabletop.

We now return you to regularly scheduled programming. Please do not adjust your keyboard.

Ref's suggestion: One of the difficult things of players this game the last time around was that there were several distinct groups doing and finding out quite different things. It would be better if the groups come together to form one party - say in a Starport bar (strong suggestion) or some such place.

But, this is entirely optional, as I do not railroad unless I have to. I just nudge the plot along.

Thanks all for participating. Soon I am hoping that you guys will get to the heart of this episode.

-The Evil Ref

Wednesday before last my ex-girlfriend was involved in a physical confrontation with someone we both know. Since then the accused has been hassling me in the expectation I'll get my ex to withdraw her statement. He's called up my parents at work, told the police I collect and maintain firearms (I don't), pretended to be me to tell my landlord I'm moving out, and many other things. He seems to think we are 'at war'.

I have reported all of his actions to the police - what he is doing is a more serious offence than the original assault.

Because of this nutter I have less time for the game as I have to deal with police and my lawyer.

I'll be fine by the way, I'm bigger, fitter and saner than this other guy. My strategy is to be as law-abiding as possible, which seems to be paying off.

Suggested climbing order:

Panthera

Ditzie

Benny

Felix

Julianne

Owen

Panthera can lead and find a route, Benny has multiple handholds and can aid in adding extra ropes, pitons etc. Julianne has already been tending Felix, has some medical skill and military training, and Owen seems like a good tail-end charlie. Ditzie's weapon and tech skills come in useful if Panthera comes across something she can't deal with, and the light weight of both girls may be critical if there's some kind of mishap and Benny ends up taking the strain.

Is my reasoning agreeable?

Gaah! Climbing! The Player's Bane!

You are going to have to work overtime Lord Kafka in keeping me from a Grav Belt! In future I intend to beg, borrow, steal one! Grr!

As to continuance, of course! I am here to play some damn Traveller! I unfortunately have been needing to pay more attention to real life of late, but will soon be back at 100% attentiveness. Holidays and all that rot threw me off kilter! Perhaps if I play up my need for a laptop with wireless hookup... for work, of course! (heh heh)

As to this situation: 50 rolls! Damn! I suggest we set some ground rules and or conditional modifiers to the system for this case. What constitutes a catastrophic failure or a fall? A 2? two 2's rolled consecutively? In 50 rolls, we are all more than likely to fall at some point with that sort of curve...

I have no other means on me to add to the climb. Hivers normally avoid problems not easily handled.
Is there anything around that can be improvised?

What if we just linearly went up the "easy" stuff that we can handle as a moving group, but at hard bits, let each person cross an obstacle while the rest spot. That way, if someone falls, we can all hold on and pull them back up.
