Combat damage to lifeforms??

SOC-9
I've read the example on page 149 of the THB repeatedly. So here goes: 1. a hit is scored 2. roll damage(say 3 dice) 3. subtract dice = to AR, but always withhold the last(highest) die. 4. subtract any remaining AR from last die. 5. If number is greater than zero--that amount is subtracted from lifeblood not stamina.
Is this accurate? What I'm trying to get at is: In personal combat, when is damage subtracted from stamina, and when from lifeblood? Any clarification would be appreciated. My first campaign starts in 8 days, and I need to run a number of combat demos before then. Thanks.

The full rolled damage is subtracted from stamina.

1. a hit is scored

2. roll damage

3. subtract full rolled damage from stamina

4. take away a number of damage dice = AR, but always leave the last, highest, one

5. subtract any remaining AR from the last die

6. if the number is greater than zero then that amount is subtracted from lifeblood.

An example:
NPC1 in a flak jacket (AR = 4) is shot at close range by a shotgun (3d damage).
1. a hit is scored
2. rolled damage is a 2, a 3, and a 5
3. 10 is subtracted from stamina
4. remove 4 damage dice - not possible so remove the 2 and the 3. This leaves 5 points of damage and 2AR.
5. 5 - 2 (last die - remaining AR) = 3
6. subtract 3 from lifeblood.

Hope this helps ;)

Thanks Sigg, helps alot. I figured out the stamina bit myself. I guess I just needed to read through it another time. It is nice to have one more example to go by.
